Alicia Moses won’t settle on just being pretty good at medical athletics. She wants to be really good at this! That’s why after her initial training with THMA and opening her own practice, she is continuing to improve through mentoring with THMA.
We know and Alicia knows that good medical aesthetics training, and all that’s involved in learning how to do safe and effective procedures, can be overwhelming at first. That’s why we offer mentoring to our trainees, helping them become suitably skilled and comfortable to do treatments. Mentoring presents an opportunity to take a deep breath, concentrate of what needs attention and work one-on-one with a THMA clinical trainer.

“I want to be good at what I do,” says Alicia, a well-respected RN with 20 years of nursing experience in Nova Scotia “I started out as a beginner and doing a pretty good job, I thought. But I wanted to do a really good job. That’s why I’ve been mentoring with THMA. Going back to people who have years of experience is important in terms of how I can improve and be even better.”
Alicia has firmly set her mind on a career in medical aesthetics. The mother of four took time away from her hospital job to think about her future, looking for something less stressful. She did extensive research on medical aesthetics and where to get training. Alicia and I talked many times, about the joys of the job and the satisfaction of independent practice. I’m grateful that she chose THMA for her training, and proud she completed our CNA-accredited Foundation Courses with Course 4: Hands-on Training at Vitality Medi-Spa in Halifax in February 2023.

In April 2023, Alicia opened The Beauty Merchant, her own practice in Windsor, NS. 
She started small, doing Botox and filler treatments. But repeated mentoring with THMA is helping her build a portfolio and a growing clientele.

Mentoring offers a safe environment for practitioners to enhance their skills, ask questions, and gain confidence. THMA mentoring is available at most of our regional training facilities in Ontario, Western Canada and the Maritimes.

Dr. Kyna Squarey of St John’s NL understands the importance working diligently to improve skills. Kyna completed our Foundation Courses in 2022 and did an Art and Science of Lip Enhancements Workshop with Gina earlier this year. She was back in Oshawa in September to master lip fillers. Gina was suitably impressed!
