‘An Opportunity to Provide Happiness to People’

After 15 years of nursing, Lindsay Peters was looking for a change. She did her research, trained hard and now owns a medical aesthetics clinic in Ottawa. We are proud to be part of the story on why she chose a career in medical aesthetics.

Lindsay Peters and her husband Kyle opened ElevateRx Medical Aesthetics in May 2019.

They now have seven additional service providers, including two nurses (Lesley Lisk and Hoda Mankal) and a physician (Dr. Stephen Cooper) who also trained at THMA Consulting, as well as a dental hygienist and a skin and laser specialist.

“It would’ve been much more challenging doing this if our injectors didn’t have that same expert training and outreach through THMA Consulting,” Lindsay said about putting together the team.

Like Hoda and Lesley, Lindsay Peters is a Nurse Practitioner. Prior to ElevateRx, she worked almost 10 years in community healthcare as an NP on a part-time basis while helping raise her young children. But when the kids got older, Lindsay started exploring other opportunities.

“The world of medical aesthetics looked very exciting,” she told us.

With the help of Kyle’s MBA and business background, they began researching the industry and the market. Kyle liked what he saw right away.

“It was an opportunity to provide happiness to people while creating a sustainable business,” said Kyle. “I did a lot of market research and the growth trend is certainly positive. I discovered that there’s an increasing demand and a real need for more evidence-based and properly trained medical aesthetic services, especially in Ontario.”

Kyle said he and Lindsay also researched training companies. They first heard about THMA Consulting through Hoda who trained with us last January.

They were confident about coming to us, Kyle said, after reading a wealth of information about the program courses and our industry experience on the THMA Consulting website and blogs.

“The best thing was the important Foundation Courses training,” said Lindsay who registered with us and trained in April 2019 . “Learning about facial anatomy and clinical assessments and injection techniques before we moved on to hands-on training was such a necessity.

“Also, the follow-up support that comes with the training, being able to email Tracey or Jeanine with questions, is something you just can’t get anywhere else.”

Lindsay and Kyle admit it was stressful getting up and running only a month later, adding that it was expensive to secure a location and purchase equipment, furniture, products and IT support. But now, with a properly structured clinical operation and well-managed cash flow, the husband and wife entrepreneurs are confident about the success of ElevateRx.

They are enjoying what they’re doing. And their patients like it, too.

“People get great satisfaction from medical aesthetics,” Kyle said. “Lindsay is literally getting hugs everyday!”

This doesn’t come as a surprise to us.

Lindsay came into our training program with a determination to learn and do her very best. She’s come back to us for guidance and additional training. She had a goal from Day One to succeed and we’re thrilled to see her heading confidently in that direction.

“I really do feel like I’m part of the THMA Consulting family,” Lindsay said, kindly adding: “I recommend them every chance I get.”

We’re appreciative of that, of course, and are happy for Lindsay and Kyle. We’re happy for Lesley, Hoda and Steve, too.

Good things really do happen to good people.
