An Authorized Prescriber (formerly referred to here as a Medical Director or AOA) is mandatory to a medical aesthetics clinic when there are RNs or RPNs working within their scope of practice. They must be fully trained by a third-party training company to acquire the regulatory knowledge, skill and judgement to meet requirements for proficiency in patient safety and ethical care. Authorized Prescribers should take the role extremely serious and consider the value of their license when assuming directorships.
