We Are Honoured To Do Our Part in Her Journey!
Raquel Rubinoff has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Toronto since 2017 (and a Certified Clinical Anesthesia Assistant since 2020). Earlier this year, she began “rigorously looking into the aesthetics field” and where to train for a new career.
She received recommendations for THMA from past trainee Tina Nguyen and current THMA trainer Jacklyn Sudetic at Distinct Medical Aesthetics in Oakville. Her follow-up Botox training research confirmed the direction she would take.
“THMA is one of very few programs that accepted my credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist,” Raquel told us. “That is what really stood out to me. Also, the fact the training is CNA-accredited means the program has a very high level of competency and expertise.”
Critical Thinking Skills
Training a Registered Therapist is no different than training a Registered Nurse. They both possess the requisite competencies to perform the authorized act safely and in the best interest of the patient and under a medical directive. “I want my patients to feel cared for and know they are in the hands of a very safe practitioner who values best practice,” Raquel affirmed.
“Administering a substance by injection or inhalation is a controlled act authorized to RTs. This means that RTs are permitted to administer medications by injection that are within the RT scope of practice (e.g., flu vaccines, procedural sedation, etc.). However, medications such as forms of botulinum toxins are outside of the RT scope of practice. Therefore, the only way an RT could administer those types of substances is under a formal delegation process that includes an educational component.;” - College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, 2019
Truly Fantastic
“I have immense respect for Respiratory Therapists,” says THMA clinical trainer Gina Maalouf. “They know a lot and their assessment and critical thinking skills are top notch. Those abilities will definitely help them in this industry.”
Raquel did her Foundation Course Hands-on Training with Gina and Niala Kalliecharan at Timeless Medical Aesthetics in Markham. Gina says Raquel did amazingly well.
“Raquel was fantastic. She paid attention to detail and was very thorough and kind. I really loved the way she talked to the patient during her initial assessment. I see a very bright future for her. And I’m so honoured to be a part of her journey!”
“It was such a massive accomplishment,” Raquel said proudly about completing her Foundation Course training. Her time with us is not over. Like all professionals who train with THMA, Raquel will continue to receive guidance and ongoing education in medical aesthetics.
“I love the resources and support after the program through access to the private Facebook group with networking capabilities. I can also continue to train and keep up my skills through affordable mentorship, and audit any future Foundation Courses for free. That level of attention and care is like no other program in this province.
“I would highly recommend THMA training to any person interested in working in this industry. It’s truly fantastic!”
Thank you, Raquel. We are grateful for those kind works. It makes us very proud to guide professionals with great skills and patient care values on their path to success in medical aesthetics. Congratulations!
