Focus on Neuromodulator Treatments
Combining in-depth virtual and in-person training, the Foundation Program - Botox is a series of comprehensive courses. The research-based training is designed for participants who primarily want to do neuromodulator treatments and concentrate on providing therapeutic treatments (for migraines, hyperhidrosis and TMJ pain). The focused training will build a solid ‘foundation’ of knowledge and skills in these areas of practice.
Training begins with four days of virtual didactic learning, which includes facial anatomy as pertaining to neuromodulator treatments, consultations and assessments, product knowledge, and professional ethics and standards. The learning concludes with Hands-on Training over one or two days at a THMA training centre.
After completing the research-based Basic Botox Course, participants will:
- Understand the importance of the consultation process as it relates to botulinum toxin A treatments
- Describe how to perform a thorough facial assessment
- Understand the mechanism of action of botulinum toxin A
- Explain the importance of the indications, contraindications and adverse events of botulinum toxin A
- Demonstrate injection techniques for upper and lower face treatment zones
Understand injection technique for axillary hyperhidrosis
