Virtual Medical Aesthetics Foundation Course: Dermal Fillers 12PM – 4PM ET.

Course components 2A and 2B on Pharmacology, Assessments on Techniques gives participants a solid foundation of critical understanding and learning to build a successful practice in medical aesthetics.

Foundation Course component 2B provides separate didactic presentations and discussions on how medical aesthetic product knowledge, patient assessment skills and variations in injection techniques will promote a safe and effective practice. The THMA virtual Medical Aesthetics Foundation Course will satisfy professional requirements for in-depth and research-based education in a virtual setting. The virtual components on the Foundation Course is completed with a skilled hands-on component of fillers, neurotoxins and Botox training.

Course Component 2B Outline:

  1. Concepts of aging
  2. Facial assessment, consultation and patient expectations
  3. Importance of thorough medical histories
  4. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and contouring products
    a) Composition
    b) Precautions and contraindications
    c) Injection techniques – needle vs cannula
    d) Treatment procedure and zones
    e) Adverse events and potential complications
  5. Differences between needle and cannula injections

THMA Consulting is pleased to have accreditation and national recognition from the Canadians Nurses Association for the Medical Aesthetics Foundation Course for Botulinum Toxin A and Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers. Nurses who complete the Foundation Course training  will receive 40 Credit Hours that can be sent to Colleges as confirmation of skill maintenance. The CNA Accreditation Program upholds standards of quality for continuing professional development for nurses in Canada.

The Tennessee Nurses Association also recognizes our Foundation Course as a “continuing nursing education activity of the highest standard,” meaning participating nurses will receive 10 contact hours for completion of Course Component 2.
